The Local Government Services Division of the State Auditor's Office is charged
with the responsibility of approving property tax levy rates, the review and
approval of general operating budgets / budget revisions for county commissions
/ municipalities and providing training and technical assistance to local
governments in the State.

Auditor Gainer has developed several new training programs presented by the
Local Government Services Division. These include videos with instruction in the
General Budget Process, GASB 34 Compliance, Tax Increment Financing, and
Preparing your Municipality for an Audit.

training materials will be produced for county officials in the coming months.
All municipal and county governments will benefit from these training programs,
