Gilbert Creek Flood
This spring brought more than our share of wet weather to the mountain state, resulting in disastrous flooding in several counties. We visited Gilbert, Mingo County, WV and met with Mayor Vivian Livingood to learn how this town has met the challenge of rebuilding.
Gilbert was formed in 1918 and named after Gilbert Creek, the creek that has become the focus of our program today.
In part two of our show Justin Southern, Communications Director of the State Auditor’s office sits down with FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer Greg Eaton, and Delegate Harry Keith White, a resident of Gilbert WV to talk about the government response to the flooding of May 9th.
