Why:
Military Saves Week was initiated by the Department of Defense in 2008 as the component of America Saves Week for U. S. service members. This year, Governor Manchin is declaring February 22nd to March 1st, 2009 as Military Saves Week in the Mountain State. In support of this effort, the state Auditor’s Office, Department of Military Affairs & Public Safety and National Guard have joined forces to distribute a new publication entitled “Kiplinger-Better Business Bureau Personal Finance Guide for Military Families.” This publication includes critical information and resources specific to the financial needs of a military family. In addition to receiving a copy of the new publication, guard members and their families in attendance will also participate in a presentation about Ponzi and other investment scams targeting members of our military.
