James Monroe High to host “Money Matters”

“Money Matters” will be presented to both the junior and senior high school classes

April 2, 2009 – Class times: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Why:
Money Matters offers students of all ages the basics of saving and investing,
credit cards, avoiding financial scams and an interactive stock market game. The
program is offered by the state Securities Commission, which is a division of the West
Virginia State Auditor’s Office. State Auditor Glen B. Gainer III serves as the West
Virginia Securities Commissioner. Since inception, over 20,000 students and teachers
have participated in Money Matters presentations. Teachers can contact James Rutledge
at the State Auditor’s office toll free (877.982.9148) to set up a Money Matters
presentation. The program is offered at no cost to West Virginia educators.
