15th Annual State Auditor's Conference
This September state employees gathered in Pocahontas County to attend the
15th Annual State Auditor's conference. 27 sessions offered refresher
training for many, and for new employees a broad overview of how the state
manages the payment process. In 2008 the conference offered the first
classes approved for continuing education credit. In 2009 the number of
approved classes doubled, making the state auditor's conference a very
affordable training opportunity for government employed CPA's. Auditor
Gainer spoke with Brenda Turley from the Board of Accountancy.
In part two, Lisa Comer talked with one of the newest presenters at the
conference, C. Joan Parker, general counsel at the WV Ethics Commission. The
Ethics Commission has been a contributor to the state auditor's conference
for many years.
In part 3 of our program, Lisa Comer returns to talk about how the
auditor's conference began as a small seminar in one room, and has become
one of the most effective training conferences in state government.
