Nicholas County High School to host

"Money Matters"

James Rutledge - Financial Literacy Specialist, WV State Auditor’s Office

What:

"Money Matters" will be presented to Nicholas County High School students

When:

Friday, June 1: 8:30-9:30, 10:00-11:00, and 12:15-1:15 classes

Where:

Jane Davis’s class (9-12 graders)

Why:

Money Matters offers students of all ages the basics of saving and investing, credit cards 101, avoiding financial scams, and an interactive stock market game will be covered at this event. The program is offered by the state Securities Commission, which is a division of the West Virginia State Auditor’s Office. Since inception, over 14,000 students and teachers have participated in Money Matters presentations. Other interested schools can contact James Rutledge at the State Auditor’s office toll free (304-558-2251) to set up a class visit. There is no cost for the presentation.
