State Auditor’s Office Releases

Annual Reports

(CHARLESTON) – West Virginia State Auditor Glen B. Gainer III added three annual reports to his website today. The 2007 Annual Report, State Dollar Report and the West Virginia State Employees Total Compensation Report are now available by accessing www.wvsao.gov.

Information included in each report:


Annual Report: The report details the duties, goals and accomplishments of the various divisions of the State Auditor’s Office for the prior year.

  • Divisions include: eGovernment, Financial Services, Purchasing Card, Information Technology, Chief Inspector, Local Government Services, County Collections/Public Utilities, Securities Commission and Communications.
  • Gross pay by department and salaries over $70,000.00 (as reported to the State Budget Office) are included in this report.
State Dollar Report: This report includes a consolidated statement of receipts and expenditures for the State of West Virginia for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007.
  • In addition to general and special revenue, the report includes statements, charts and/or summaries of bonded indebtedness, revenue shortfall reserve fund, highway tax fund, public utilities and others.
Total Compensation Report: A report which includes compensation for employees of the State of West Virginia in a calendar year.
  • New this year: Total Compensation has been added in a more efficient format which allows citizens to search by agency or name. Other enhancements include a denotation for employees that have received compensation from multiple agencies.
  • The Total Compensation Report for 2007 includes 66,075 records totaling $1,509,774,134.79.
  • This report includes payment classifications such as per diem, overtime and others which may not be included in regular salary.
  • This report will differ from an employee’s W-2 information which takes into account tax-sheltered and/or other deductions.
