As editorial director of The Kiplinger Washington Editors, Kevin McCormally oversees The Kiplinger Letter, the most widely-read business forecasting periodical in the world, and the 800,000 circulation Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine, where McCormally served as a writer and editor for more than 25 years. He also oversees the Kiplinger Tax Letter, Kiplinger California Letter, Kiplinger Agriculture Letter, Kiplinger’s Retirement Report and KWE’s websites www.kiplinger.com and www.kiplingerforecast.com. Knight A. Kiplinger, KWE President and Editor in Chief calls McCormally "the watchdog of editorial quality, integrity and fairness in all that we do."

McCormally joined Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine (then known as Changing Times) in 1977. He has written and edited articles on a wide range of investing and personal finance issues, specializing in covering federal and state income taxes and retirement and estate planning. He continues to be a regular contributor to the magazine’s Web site. For many years, he authored Kiplinger’s Cut Your Taxes, an annual guide to year-round tax planning.

McCormally appears frequently on national television"including serving as a long-time contributor to Nightly Business Report"and radio to discuss federal income taxes, retirement planning and other personal finance issues. He is instrumental in developing, updating and refining the Kiplinger tax advice incorporated in TaxCut, the highly-regarded tax preparation software program. He has twice been honored with National Press Club Awards for Best Consumer Journalism.

Prior to joining Kiplinger's, McCormally was press secretary and legislative assistant for a member of Congress. He has also worked for newspapers in Iowa as a reporter, photographer and city editor. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Iowa.
