Mr. Hunt spoke to the annual meeting of Municipal Officials and Assistants about the present
and future of our cities and municipalities and how they relate to cities and towns across the
United States. Some of the topics covered in Mr. Hunt’s presentation include block grants,
congressional activities, housing, telecommunications, infrastructure and other topics that
city and municipal governments must face every year.

The Bureau of Senior Services wanted to see how the first wave of baby boomer retirements
would affect state and local government agencies in West Virginia. Tom Dudley directed that survey
covering topics such as senior center usage, public transportation, social security, pensions
and individual medical costs. Mr. Dudley visited with us at Charleston’s Senior Expo to
talk about the results.
