Conference Schedule:

  1. State Auditor's Conference Registration/Training Schedule is as follows: September 23: Conference Registration 11:00 am to 4:00 pm (location to be announced) - thereafter daily
    September 23: 1/2 a day of training beginning at 1:30 pm
    September 24: 1 full day of training
    September 25: 1 full day of training
    September 26: 1/2 day of training ending at 12:00 noon
    Registration Fee: $195.00

  2. Purchasing Card Coordinator's Seminar Registration/Training Schedule is as follows - Choose one day only:
    September 22: Seminar Registration 8:30 am to 9:15 am (Expo Center)
    September 22: Seminar - 9:30 am - 4:30 pm (Expo Center) - Lunch Provided

    September 23: Seminar registration 8:30 am to 9:15 am (Expo Center)
    September 23: Seminar - 9:30 am - 4:30 pm (Expo Center) - Lunch Provided

Questions and Answers:

  1. What is the conference registration fee? $195 This year, participants must register on-line for the State Auditor’s Conference at: www.wvsao.gov REGISTRATION WILL OFFICIALLY OPEN ON JULY 1, 2008. There are two payment options: Credit Card or Expense-To-Expense. The state purchasing card is the preferred method of payment. NOTE: If you choose to pay via Expense-To-Expense, you are not registered to attend the conference until payment is received and logged! The state purchasing card is the preferred method of payment.

  2. What is included in the registration fee? Your registration fee will include conference materials and meals as indicated on the official agenda which will be available for review in mid-July. Food and beverages include: all refreshment breaks, one dinner, two lunches and continental breakfast daily beginning September 24. Your participation in or absence during the banquet events has no effect on the amount paid in whole or in part for registration.

  3. When is the registration deadline? The deadline to register is AUGUST 15, 2008.

  4. Can my registration fee be refunded if I do not attend? In order to receive a refund of the registration fee, the State Auditor’s Office must receive your cancellation, in writing, prior to the deadline. Thereafter, your non-refundable registration can only be transferred to another participant within your agency.

  5. Where will the sessions be located? The sessions will be located in three different buildings including Mountain Lodge, Allegheny Springs and Seneca. Meals will be located at the Expo building. A communication room will be set-up for participants to log-in and check internet based email and to access WVFIMS.

  6. What if I plan to bring a guest? Contact Nancy Pennington via email at: nancy.pennington@wvsao.gov to obtain a guest registration form. Guest fees for all meals listed on the agenda will be a flat rate of $100 (Age 12 to Adult) and $45 (Age 3 to 11) A guest’s participation in or absence during the banquet events will have no effect on the amount paid in whole or in part.

  7. Will the Purchasing Card Coordinator’s Seminar be at the same location as the State Auditor’s Conference? YES! The Purchasing Card Coordinator’s Seminar will be one full day of training at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. As in the past, coordinators will have the option of choosing to attend either on Monday, September 22 or Tuesday, September 23. This seminar will be located exclusively at the Expo Building (Shavers Center). Questions concerning that seminar should be directed to the Purchasing Card Division. Please remember… if you plan to attend both the State Auditor’s Conference and the Purchasing Card Coordinator seminar, you must register for both on-line. Registration opens on July 1.

  8. There are many hotels listed for accommodations. Where should I stay? Before choosing your guest room, we recommend that you visit Snowshoe’s website at www.snowshoemtn.com/lodging/village-central/ Note: A guest staying at Allegheny Springs can check-in at Allegheny Springs. All other guests should check-in at the Top of the World. Each lodging facility has dedicated parking and fees vary at each facility. Self-parking is free across from the Rimfire Lodge.

  9. What if I want my agency to be direct billed for overnight accommodations? Any direct billing for lodging should be handled between your agency and Snowshoe. You should contact them directly to obtain the required forms.

  10. When is the deadline to obtain a room? August 15. Call Snowshoe for overnight accommodations at 877-441-4386 and mention the group code 50E2JA to ensure you are in our designated conference rate block. Lodging rates include:
