Manuel "Manny" Schiffres

Schiffres joined Kiplinger's in 1987. He was previously an associate editor at U.S. News & World Report, where he focused on a variety of business areas, including personal finance, high technology, telecommunications, consumer electronics and computers. He joined the magazine in 1979, first serving as a reporter for the New York City bureau, then as an associate editor in Washington. Prior to U.S. News, Schiffres was a reporter and editor for the Associated Press in New York City and Louisville, Ky., and was a reporter for the New Haven (Conn.) Register.

Schiffres, a frequent guest on national radio and television programs, holds an M.A. in journalism from the University of Missouri and a B.A. in government from Cornell University.
